db electronica was formed in early 2020, playing DAW based electronic music. Covid 19 temporarily halted progress until Summer arrived and the sessions recommenced outdoors. These 2 pieces are a snapshot of db electronica‘s current headspace. The tracks are live, as played on the day. No additional mastering or overdubs.

db electronica is a collaboration between two electronic music artists, Pierre Bouchard and Tim Darbyshire. Both compose and perform through their synchronous digital audio workstations (DAWs).

Pierre Bouchard studied electroacoustic music at Concordia University in the 1980s. Bridging the analog and the digital were always a concern of his. He dreamt of the day where a complete sound studio would fit a single computer! Nowadays, Pierre has fulfilled his dream and is working with digital audio workstations to compose electronic music and to do live performances.

Tim Darbyshire is originally from the UK  has been involved in the electronic scene since the 1990s, and is currently recording as a solo artist LIGHTFORM.

db electronica is presently focussing on live performances and aspires to create spontaneous sound environments as well as more formal advertised live events.

Pierre & Tim connected in 2020 and have enjoyed a productive musical partnership since, holding weekly live jam sessions both indoors and outdoors throughout the summer.
